Week 6!! ^_^


TUESDAY-10/1/2012

Today, Leyha's group are presenting about PREPOSITIONS & PRONOUNS...
Do you know what is prepositions & pronouns?
Firstly, let me tell you what is prepositions... :)
PREPOSITIONS- a word that shows the relationships between a noun or pronoun and others words in sentences..
There are three types of prepositions:
  • prepositions of place
  • prepositions of time 
  • prepositions of movement

Now, let me tell you what is pronouns..
PRONOUNS- a word that takes the places and to refer something but do not name it..
Type of pronouns:
  • Personal pronouns- refer to people or things.
  • Reflexive pronouns- refer to a noun or another pronoun and indicates that the same person or thing is involved.
  • Demonstrative pronouns- used to point out ideas or objects to which they refer.
  • Interrogative pronouns- used in WH-question or indirect question.
  • Relative pronouns- to introduce phrase or clause.
  • Indefinite pronouns- to refer to a thing or person in a general way.

WEDNESDAY- 11/1/2012

Today, I become an actor again!! HAHA~
But, it is differrent for today.. We must acting and singing like 'HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL'.. errrrr~~~ :(



Although, I sigh before doing this activity, but after that, I really happy doing this activity!! :) I think activity like this can reduce stress. Besides, it is also build my confidence to face and talk in front of many people. As I was said bfore in my poem, I am shy to talk in front of many people. I think activity like this can build my confidence. 

My group must act about 'Women Dare to Go It Alone'. 

Rahey : narrator
Izuwan: the husband
Salina: wife in the 2000s
Pony: The wife in the 1900s
Hefa: the daughter

In our story, we make a difference between wife in the 1900s and wife in the 2000s. Wife in the 2000s are focused on their work than their husband. While, wife in the 1900s are focused with their family.
I think we did a good job in acting! HAHA~ :D

Oh no! Oh no! We have non-linear essay pop quiz...
AHHH! The question is so tough! I think I did not did well. :(

This night we learn FACT and OPINION....
What is fact? 
What is opinion? 

Let me explain it a little bit... :)
Fact is :
  • objective information that can be checked or proved to be true
  • information that does not change
  • not a statement about the future
Opinion is :
  • is a statement that cannot be proved to be true or false
  • is one's personal belief, idea, or feeling about a subject
  • can be statement about the future

Week 5!!!

TUESDAY-3/1/2012
Happy new year!! HAHA~ This is my first BEL260 class for this class...
I hope I can do better in English this year... :)
Today, I want to share with you all what I have learnt today..
Today I learn 'NON LINEAR TO LINEAR WRITING'... Ahhhhh! I hate writing since I was in primary school... :(
Have you ever heard about 'Non Linear to Linear Writing'? 
Non Linear to Linear Writing is an interpretation of information presented graphically...

Format of writing
  • Organise, present and possibly compare.
  • Describe stages of a procedure or process.
  • Describe on object or event or series of events.
TIPS!!
  1. Spend 5 minutes reading the graph/charts etc..
  2. Make sure you understand axes.
  3. Make sure you follow lines on graph.
  4. Focus on the key information.
  5. If two graphs - compare.
  6. Think about the time period - tenses.
  7. Vary you vocabulary.
  8. Organize information clearly.
  9. Write neatly.

WEDNESDAY-4/1/2012

On this day, Miss Zu got angry with us because we didn't do our portfolio properly.... Class become so quiet.. This is because everyone felt scared when Miss Zu got angry including me... 

Although, Miss Zu got angry, but after that she could make us laugh...
On this day, I learnt how to find main ideas.. As we know, every paragraph have topic sentences which have the main idea.. But, did you know that some paragraph have an implied main idea?
It is mean that you have to figure out the main idea by yourself..

Example: 
Yellow is bright, cheery color, it is often associated with spring and hopefulness. Green, since it is a color that appears frequently in nature, has come to suggest growth and rebirth. 

The main idea for this paragraph is different types of colors suggest diverse meanings.

After that, we did a games which we need to find the main idea from the video that we watch...

The main idea for this video is the importance of selling up a good example to kids towards parents...

Hours Spent On Activities By Different Age Groups In Someland


The table shows  hours spent on activities by different age groups in Someland within one years. The range of age is between teens and 70’s above.

Watching TV or Videos is the most spent by all range of age especially for teen,1200 and 70s +
1100 because all the program suits all age.

On the other hand, doing group exercise and sport is the least hours spent activities. It shows an obvious difference of  hours which is change 100% among the age 60s to 70s +. This is due to the less energy they have.

Fluctuating occurs on the socialising with 4 or less people. It increases 150 hours from 20s to 30s age range whiles it down from 300 to 250 hours from 30s to 40s. It remains constant until 50s.

The table indicates the least hours spent on doing group activity or sport on age range 60s to 70s+.  This is because during that age they socialised less. This is proved by the given data about the socialise activities.  In order to encourage old folks to socialised, the government should organized event that involve them.

BEL260 become more exciting!!! <3
After becoming as an actress and reporter.. On this day I became a poet... HAHA~ 
'Oh no! How I want to write my poem?'
Because before this, I never wrote poem. This is my first time I wrote a poem. 
Miss Zu gave us 25 minutes to make a wonderful poem. The poem is about ' I think I can'.

Finally, aftre 25 minutes, I finished my first poem! HAHA~

Arghhhh! It is so hard to get it!! 
But, if I study hard

On this day, I became a lecturer...
Arghhhh! Now, I know how hard to be a lecturer...
RAHEY, HEFA, SALINA and I need to teach our classmate about NOUN and ARTICLE..

Let me tell you a little bit about noun and article..

Nouns is a name of people, things, animals and places.
Type of nouns:
  • Proper Nouns- name of one particular person or things.
  • Common Nouns- noun of all things with the same kind or class
  • Abstract Nouns- things we can only think of and feel.
  • Collective Nouns- the name of a number (or collection) of person or things considered as one.
  • Countable Nouns-  noun with both a singular and a plural form, and it names anything (or anyone) that you can count
  • Uncountable Nouns- noun which does not have a plural form, and which refers to something that you could (or would) not usually count.

Article are A, AN and THE.

To make the class more interesting, we do a game.
We were divided them into two group. After that, each group need to send one representative to throw the dice and also answer our question. Our game were based on snake draught. The group which reached  at the finishing line is the winner.
Lastly, the first group win this game.

I hope they have fun with this game.. :)
